A Fruitful Heritage: Images of the Missouri State Fruit Experiment Station consists of images digitized from 873 glass photographic plates, dated from 1897 through approximately the 1950's. In the course of their advisement and research, the Station directors and staff documented their work on glass photographic plates, 4"x5" and 5"x7". This ensuing collection of digital images displays the unique heritage of Ozark pomology (fruit culture), and consists of a wide range of subjects, locations and orcharding practices from the first half of the twentieth century. This project was made possible by an LSTA Digital Imaging Grant, through the Library Services and Technology Act (LSTA) and the Missouri State Library, 2003-2004.
